BACKSTORY

The officiant Eric Murenberg gave the best capsule recap for the wedding audience.

“I have known Nick for over 15 years, sharing many miles, adventures and countless stories with enormous arm movements from this guy. Cindy and I met for the first time at the hallowed grounds of Cuatros Casas in Baja CA in 2018. In hindsight, it was special to be around Nick and Cindy on this trip. They were just froends at the tiem of this trip, and we traveling with a large group. Yet the two of them were like two magnets, drawn to each other throughut the weekend. I remember how clear it was that there was a connection between the two. It was of little surprise they became very important to each other and started dating a few weeks later after that trip.”

Life was eventful. Nick served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves and Cindy successfully worked on gaining her admittance to SDSU to study for her doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Cut to April 2023. Nick completes his Army Reserve training and Cindy is getting ready to graduate with her doctorate in physical therapy. April 2023, Nick proposes to Cindy on a snowy mountain in Palm Springs–a perfect setting for a romantic proposal. The Aerial Tramway  is a cable car that transports passengers to the top of Mt. Jacinta. The Bernal family along with Pete Zizak and Leila, celebrated with dinner at La Quinta Cliffhouse.

Wedding planning begins and a destination wedding is planned. Destination Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

PUERTO NUEVO, MEXICO

Friends and family came from near and far to celebrate with Nick and Cindy at Villa Estancia, an all inclusive resort on the Pacific Ocean. Nick and Cindy planned events for the entire weekend. First off, there was a casual welcome party on Thursday night when most guests arrived. Friday night all were invited to the rehearsal gathering. Speeches from friends and family sparked the evening with fun details from their lives before they came together.

The Wedding

Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, friends and family gathered to witness the union of Nick and Cindy. The officient was Eric Marenburg, a close friend of the couple.

Eric was present at their fateful encounter at Cuatro Casas. Althought they were just friends at the time traveling with a larger group, Eric described them as two magnets drawn to each other.

Eric talked about their passions, particularly the love of sports and triathlons.
